Sus drásticos cambios de humor, puede estar contenta y de repente enfadarse o deprimirse sin un motivo aparente que lo justifique, efecto secundario de las investigaciones que se llevaron a cabo en ella y del uso de su poder telequinético (que es incapaz de controlar y comprender) , hacen muy difícil saber como es Irina en realidad. Es muy cerrada como para hablar de sí misma, así que todo lo que muestra a los demás, bueno o malo, es tan sólo una fachada. Mayormente es muy intranquila (tiembla, habla muy rápidamente, mira hacia todos lados de manera nerviosa), siempre se mantiene alerta. Sufre esquizofrenia, un trastorno mental crónico y grave que altera su percepción y expresión de la realidad, y la incapacita para tener relaciones sociales estables. Le provoca visiones y nunca puede estar segura de si está o no sola y a salvo y de si todas las personas que la rodean son reales o producto de su imaginación.
Es frágil tanto física como psicológicamente, inocente en los aspectos más básicos de la vida cotidiana (relaciones personales,amorosas o amistosas), incrédula y desconfiada (el 70% de la gente está puesta en este mucho para dañarla y los demás sólo existen en su cabeza) y tiende a ser pesimista y a tener una mala visión de su futuro. Sufre una mania persecutoria y alucinaciones, está convencida de que la persiguen, de que quieren hacerle daño o matarla y arremete contra cualquiera que para ella pueda parecer un peligro aunque no lo sea. Precisamente por esto es ella la que se considera peligrosa para los demás. Su relación con el personal de Vecordia es mala, ya que en general es difícil convivir con alguien como ella, sin embargo con los prisioneros y pacientes es mejor, dado que empatiza de algún modo con ellos.
